Franco Bertucci GUITAR, VOCALS
Franco is a founding member of Locust Street Taxi and the band leader. Franco was captured by music at the tender age of 15 and has not yet escaped. He took music lessons for one year from a professional folk musician in Colorado Springs, CO, named Beezy Taylor. Later, he studied music theory for two years in college. It was during that time that he first shared the stage with future band mate, Nathan Geyer, in the musical production of “Pirates of Penzance.” Franco is known for his sincere songwriting, unique sense of phrasing, inimitable dance moves and random feats of athleticism. When not on the road with LST, he lives with his wife and three children in a house that he built on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Franco was once mistaken for Jason Mraz on a ferry boat.

Nathan Benjamin Geyer TROMBONE, TRUMPET, KEYBOARD, VOCALS
Nathan joined Locust Street Taxi when he was 18 in 2001 and is a founding member. Geyer has performed with a number of bands in addition to Locust Street Taxi, including: Steppenwolf and Friends, Harry James Orchestra, Bob Curnow Big Band, Civilized Animal, Olympia Jazz Senators, Green Light District and most recently the funk band, The Brown Edition. In addition to his frequent performing, Nathan teaches music privately and in public schools. He received his music education degree from Eastern Washington University. Nathan is known for being able to rap while wearing khaki shorts and white crew socks. Nathan currently lives in Cheney, WA. He can make a sonar ping with his trombone.

James Porter ELECTRIC BASS, UPRIGHT BASS, VOCALS
James studied music and computer science at the University of Washington and The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. He can dance, play bass, sing harmonies and compute fractals in his head all at the same time. He grew up in Port Townsend, WA – a friend of drummer, Sam’s, since second grade. When James joined the band in April of 2010 he shattered the Locust Street Taxi record for “tallest member.” He has shattered other band records as well, such as, “longest conversation with Franco about mathematical probabilities on the way to a gig.” In addition to performing with Locust Street Taxi, James has toured with progressive rock band, “Ideofone.” James has invented his own alphabet and lives in Seattle.

Sam Stockard DRUMS
Sam first played with LST in 2005 when he was 18 years old. Sam did not play with LST in 2006 or 2007 but returned in 2008 and has been with the group ever since. Like James, he grew up in Port Townsend, WA where he studied and played percussion in a variety of ensembles. Sam is known for his intricate, creative drum parts, broad taste in music and ability to play in many different styles. Sam holds all band records that matter in regard to LST drummers, including, “most steam observed emitting from hands.” That occurred at a New Year’s Eve gig performed out of doors in 22 degrees below freezing. He is a founding member of Bellingham band, “DYA.” Sam is our 11th and 13th drummer and lives in Bellingham, WA.
